Yes I'm still here!

You are probably wonder, where in the world I am, what in the world I am up to, and how in the world I am doing; this is a brief post that will try to answer these questions.

Where am I?
Yes I am still around, just not that active in the blogging world (duh! everyone knew that).

What am I doing?
Lately I have been focusing on work; see I have agreed to add more responsibility to my workload (without the added pay increase, so sad). For those who don't know or have forgotten, I work at our University Hospital (which also includes the adjacent Cancer Hospital) as a material manager, making sure that the stock rooms of specific departments that I am in charge of are fully stocked. The organization is in the process of building another 'satelite' hospital across town, and I am working on getting the materials side for four departments are quoted, ordered, set up, and eventually stocked; all this is to be done by January 2012. The best part is that this is a new challenge for me, because one of the major departments (the OR) is very new to me and I am learning and will be learning about a whole lot of new products and equipment.
Unfortunately when I come home from work, I am tired and tend to not want to work on quilts, gardening, and too much of other things, especially exercise. However a few months ago I did take on a wonderful challenge of compiling a family cookbook that will be auctioned off at our next family reunion in July 2012. I have received many wonderful recipes from the extended family members, along with pictures of ancestors, family members when they were young, and stories that will be included in this hopefully treasured item. I am having fun designing the book cover and organizing the recipes inside.

How am I doing?
Old and Tired! But very optimistic that my energy will start picking up as I start to see my work project coming together, the cookbook taking shape, as well as the holidays fast approaching and me wanting to make sure that we don't loose track of time and miss out.

Since I have mentioned the holidays, my projects will not be made know at this time, especially since most of them will be come holiday gifts and I don't want to spoil it for anyone. Sorry, nothing, not even hints, well unless it is something that I know for sure that will not be given at Christmas time (we all know that I have a huge list of wedding quilts that need to be made or finished, those I will show as I am working on them). I will try to start back up with Judy's Design Wall Monday to let you know what I am working on, if I can.

Yes you caught me I did say 'old'; a couple weeks ago I had another birthday, they tend to come around every year somehow. This one was a very quite, but sweet day for me. Not sure how I feel that a milestone is quickly approaching (next year, maybe I should ask MMM how his same milestone went, yes I just 'name dropped' let see if he notices, smirk).

  1. And by saying "let's see if he notices" you are implying...
    a) He doesn't read your blog.
    b) He isn't observant.
    c) He is incapable of making a coherent comment.
    d) all of the above.

And so, because of your snarky implications, I refuse to comment.

    Oops! Too late!

  2. Even though I continue to forget to send you a recipe. I am still very much looking forward to the cookbook. :)

  3. I hear ya! I feel pretty old most days too.

Please let me know what you think and how I am doing. I would love to hear from you!
